If you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar company to another, you’ll need to pass through several safety procedures. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the current domain registrar – provided that you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s email address and nobody else can see it. You will need to provide this code to the new registrar company, or else they won’t be able to start the transfer process. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy and paste the correct code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain may be reset regularly. Some domain registrars call this code a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a website hosting, you have registered a domain through us and you want to transfer it away, you can obtain its EPP authentication code with no more than several clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and navigate to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domain names that you’ve registered with us shown alphabetically. Next to each domain name, you will see a mini EPP icon for all Top-Level Domain extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between domain registrars. Clicking on the icon will send the code to the domain registrant’s email address straight away. In the same section you can also find and eventually update the email, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.
